Miley Cyrus has unveiled her seventh studio album, “Plastic Hearts,” which will arrive on November 27.
The 27-year-old star took to Instagram to reveal the illustration for her follow-up to 2017’s “Younger Now,” which will be released on November 27.
The “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” singer – who divorced Hollywood star Liam Hemsworth earlier this year – explained that she started working on the record in 2018, but everything was “erased” when her life changed dramatically after her home was lost in the Malibu Fire two years ago.
She told fans, “If you’re reading this… know that I love and appreciate you deeply. I started this album over 2 years ago.
“I thought I understood everything. Not just the record with its songs and sounds, but my whole f ****** life. But no one controls an ego like life itself. Just when I thought the body of the work was done… it was ALL erased. Including most of the relevant music. Because EVERYTHING had changed.
“Nature did what I now consider a favor and destroyed what I couldn’t give up for myself. I lost my home in a fire but found myself in its ashes.
Fortunately, my staff still had most of the music that was burned in newspapers and computers filled with songs for the EP series I was working on at the time. But it never seemed fair to publish my ‘story. (Each disc being an ongoing autobiography) with a huge chapter missing.
“If this was a chapter in my book, I guess I would call it ‘the beginning’, which usually when something is finished we call it ‘the end’. But it was far from it.
“In triumph and gratitude, I present to you my 7th studio album, Plastic Hearts. To be released November 27, 2020. XXMC (sic) “
So far, Miley has released the album’s first single, “Midnight Sky,” and has announced that there is a track titled “High” with her regular collaborator Mark Ronson, as well as guest appearances from Dua Lipa and of punk rock legend Billy Idol on the LP.
